Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu | Transfer to KGHOvernight: 1350 m

Arrive in Kathmandu and we transfer you to Kathmandu Guest House (KGH). The day is kept light so you can rest and recover from travel. If you arrive early, you can take a gentle walk nearby and get comfortable with the city’s pace. In the evening, we keep things calm and brief you on the road journey, drive times, and what to expect in each destination.

Day 2Kathmandu | Optional World Heritage SightseeingOvernight: 1350 m

This is your second Kathmandu day, so it can be used for Optional World Heritage Sightseeing while still keeping the day relaxed. It is also a good time for a simple trip briefing and making sure you are comfortable for the overland section. If you prefer a slower pace, you can keep this as a café and shopping day and rest well before the first drive. Overnight remains at KGH.

Day 3Drive to Nuwakot | Visit Nuwakot DarbarOvernight: 900 m

You drive into the mid-hills toward Nuwakot, leaving the Kathmandu valley behind and entering quieter countryside roads. The highlight is visiting Nuwakot Darbar, a historic palace complex with a strong royal-era atmosphere and viewpoints over the surrounding valleys.

The visit is paced comfortably with time for photos and short walking around the Durbar area. After sightseeing, you settle in for a calm evening in the hill setting.

Day 4Drive to Gorkha | Visit Gorkha PalaceOvernight: 1000 m

Today you travel onward to Gorkha and visit Gorkha Palace (Gorkha Durbar), a landmark hilltop palace-fort site. Nepal Tourism Board describes the palace sitting on a hill at around 1,000m and about an hour’s walk from the bazaar area.

You take the visit at a relaxed pace, focusing on the setting, the architecture, and the historical significance. After the palace visit, the rest of the day is for settling in and resting well.

Day 5Drive to BandipurOvernight: 1030 m

You drive to Bandipur, a hilltop settlement known for its preserved old-time cultural atmosphere.

After arrival, you can enjoy a gentle walk along the bazaar street and soak in the town’s slower pace. Bandipur works beautifully as a transition stop because it feels peaceful, walkable, and scenic. The evening is perfect for relaxed dining and an early night in cooler hill air.

Day 6Drive to PokharaOvernight: 815 m

You continue to Pokhara and shift into a completely different vibe - lakeside, relaxed, and easy. Pokhara sits at an average elevation of about 822m, and most guests feel the warmth and oxygen increase quickly after the hill towns.

After check-in, the best plan is simply to unwind with a slow walk around Lakeside and an easy evening meal. This day is designed to feel comfortable, not rushed.

Day 7Explore PokharaOvernight: 821 m

A full day to enjoy Pokhara at your own pace. Many guests keep it simple with lakeside cafés, a gentle walk by Phewa Lake, and relaxed shopping, while others add light sightseeing depending on interest. The goal is recovery and enjoyment rather than a busy schedule. A calm evening sets you up well for the drive to Tansen tomorrow.

Day 8Drive to TanseOvernight: 1349 m

You drive to Tansen, a hill-station town and the administrative center of Palpa District.

The road day is scenic as you move away from the Pokhara valley and back into mid-hill landscapes. After arrival, you can enjoy a gentle orientation walk and take in the cooler climate. This is a great place to slow down and enjoy a quieter Nepal experience.

Day 9 Explore TansenOvernight: 1349 m

A full day to explore Tansen at an easy pace. You can stroll the town streets, enjoy viewpoints, and experience the hill-town atmosphere without any rush. This day is also useful for slow shopping and photography, since the town has a calm rhythm. The evening is kept relaxed because tomorrow you descend toward the plains and Lumbini.

Day 10Drive to LumbiniOvernight: 120 m

You descend from the hills into the warmer lowlands and reach Lumbini, a major Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal. UNESCO describes Lumbini as the sacred area where Lord Buddha was born, evidenced by the Ashoka pillar inscription.

After check-in, you can begin with a calm first visit in the sacred garden area, keeping the day light and peaceful. The atmosphere here is designed for slow, reflective exploration rather than rushing.

Day 11Explore LumbiniOvernight: 120 m

Today is for unhurried exploration of Lumbini’s sacred sites. Key highlights include the Mayadevi Temple area and the Ashoka pillar significance described by both UNESCO and Nepal Tourism Board.

The best way to experience Lumbini is slowly, with time for quiet walks and breaks. This day is intentionally calm so the spiritual atmosphere can be appreciated properly.

Day 12 Fly to Kathmandu | Transfer to KGHOvernight: 1350 m

You transfer to Bhairahawa (Gautam Buddha Airport) for the domestic flight to Kathmandu. Airlines such as Buddha Air and Yeti operate Bhairahawa-Kathmandu sectors, making this a convenient way to avoid a long return drive.

On arrival in Kathmandu, we transfer you to Kathmandu Guest House (KGH). The evening is relaxed for a hot shower, a good meal, and easy packing.

Day 13KathmanduOvernight: 1350 m

A free day in Kathmandu at KGH for rest, shopping, or optional sightseeing depending on your energy. It also works as a practical buffer in case flight timings shift. Most guests enjoy a slow café day and a farewell dinner to close the trip nicely. We keep the schedule unhurried so departure day feels smooth.

Day 14Depart | Transfer to TIA

We transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for your onward flight home.
