Visit the stunning Gurung settlement of Ghandruk, home to many ex-Gurkha soldiers who fought the second world war. An early morning climb up to Poon Hill (3200m / 10,500 ft) rewards you with panoramic view of the Annapurnas, Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Peak), Dhaulagiri and many other 7000 & 8000 meter Himalayan peaks. During the spring season, Rhododendron trees are ablaze with red, pink and ivory blossoms, filling the heart with the joy and excitement of being in nature amongst some of the world's highest peaks.
