Trekking:- Everest Base Camp
Amazing: Sometimes standing on the edge of a path looking down
.,down
down down it went, and it was like you were the only person in the world.
The silence cant be describe. Its like watching a nature movie and having
the sound turned off but instead of watching it, you are actually in it.
Words fail me and I cant describe the feelings it gave me standing on
the edge of a mountain (to me, probably to Lhakpa it would be a hill).
Amazing because it toke my breath away looking at the mountains with the
snowy tops and realising that we had 10 more days of this wonder. At night
when I couldnt sleep I would step outside and look up into the sky,
and those moments alone makes me want to do the trek again. The sky and
the stars are so bright. You can see the edge of Ama Dablam and see the
snowy top. Still its so dark, no city lights to obscure the scenery. I
will remember the snowy tops, the silence along with those starry nights
the most. Of course there are all the other things that makes this a must
do trip.
Lhakpa to start off with, made sure
we never missed out on anything, he lead with patience. I never felt unsafe
or unsure of myself. He guided us on the tough spots and made sure we
were well feed and warm at night. Make sure you play Uno with him its
a must experience. His staff was always ahead of us and when we arrived
to the teahouse our baggage was already there, so we never had to wait
to slip into warm and dry clothes. It was extremely well organised. The
teahouses were well picked although on some especially tough days we never
could figure out why Lhapka picked the very last house. Well I understand
now, because it was the best and it made the trip out the next day easier.
I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone.
Tough:
There were days when all I could do was look at my feet and count to ten,
then the next ten steps. I literally got off my office chair and decided
to trek to Base Camp. When I wrote lhapka asking him about the physical
level the reply back was, "its easy enough" ha ha ha, I will
say that if you like me have done little to no training prior this trip
you'll have a tough time. But I found its not always about the physical
side, its also about the will, the will to succeed and the will to see
it through to the end. For me it was a tough trek and if there will be
a next time I will do more in the gym. It was worth every pain in my muscle
.every
effort of taken a breath of air. It was worth it, and on some days I couldnt
have done it without Lhapka making sure I would drink enough Chu Chu (I
think thats how its spelled)
Rereading this paragraf I feel its
in adequate of the experience we had. I have seen and done things that
I never thought possible. I have been to base camp WOW! The only thing
left to say is, do it and make sure Lhakpa is your guide.

Trekking:- Everest Region & Gokyo.
We got Lhapka recommended by another Danish friend & choose him
since he said he was one of the best guiding Sherpa's in Nepal. Since this
was our first trekking in Nepal we do not have so much to compare with,
but it is not difficult to recognize nice people and good service. Lhapka
and his wife Doma (and of course their son) are the nicest people.
After having spent 19 days with Lhapka we consider him a good friend today.
He is one of the nicest people we have ever met. Besides this he is a really
good trekking-guide. He knows all the trekking areas in the Khumbu area
very, very well, the issues to be aware off with regards to altitude sickness
and so on.
The service level while we were trekking was outstanding. All the time he
made sure that we had everything we needed (tee, coffee, fresh water etc).
Even when we were cold because our equipment was not sufficient he was able
to help us out in the most fantastic way.
The trek itself was extremely nice, even though it was incredible cold in
the evenings and nights. We started of in Lukla from where we wend to Namche
and carried on towards the Everest Base Camp and Kallar Pattar. Everest
Base Camp is not that interesting in itself, but it is of course a must
for first time trekkers to visit it. After that we went to Gokyo. Gokyo
is a very very nice valley with 5 legs. We liked it so much that we choose
to stay there for another night and then skip one pass. In order to go from
the Everest region to the Gokyo valley you have to go through the Chola
pass. There is a bit of easy climbing here, but when you get up to the top
and get to walk on the glacier it is worth all the effort.
Basically we had 19 beautiful and very nice days together with Lhapka and
we can only recommend him as a trekking guide. So if you read this, go no
further!! He is your man. If you have any questions please feel free to
contact us on nicolai.lillesoe@hotmail.com
After we ended our trek, Doma and Lhapka has been so helpfull in arranging
trips for us to the Chitwan Resort. They have helped us getting plain ticekts
and so on. We have never met this good service before.

LHAKPA DORJEE SHERPA AND LHAKPA DOMA SHERPA
It gives me great pleasure to write a note in support of Khumbu
Adventures.
I have Multiple Sclerosis and rely on a wheelchair. Trekking to
Everest Base Camp has been a dream of mine for twenty years.
Lhakpa Dorjee Sherpa and Lhakpa Doma Sherpa had great courage
in taking on our unusual expedition. To the best of our knowledge
a trek to the Base Camp of Everest, using a Trail Rider, has never
been attempted. Lhakpa put a great deal of thought into planning
and implementing our trip. Every detail was meticulously thought
through. The slightly longer 21 day trek gave us time to acclimatize
to the altitude as we moved higher. We felt safe as soon as we
arrived at Kathmandu Airport and were met by Doma. We had the
added advantage of moving through her villages and staying in
lodges run by some of her relatives, where we were welcomed and
given the very best care.
For all 14 of our Rise Above Barriers Team to reach Everest Base
Camp was a remarkable achievement considering the Team was transporting
me in a Trail Rider. Thanks to Lhakpa, Doma, their guides and
porters for taking such excellent care of all of us and for helping
make our dream come true.
We cannot recommend Khumbu Adventures highly enough.

Lhakpa did a phenomenal job of organizing our
trek and guiding us through this challenging experience. He accounted
for the special needs of our group, ensuring we acclimatized while,
we had the added physical stress of pulling the Trail Rider. Lhakpa,
Doma + their team worked continually to ensure our good.
I would recommend khumbu adventure of anyone without hesitation.

I am very impressed by the incredible job done
by Lhakpa, Doma and their entire team. They were very kind and
looking after all of our needs during the trek. Lhakpa's skill
and knowledge was amazing and Doma's close ties to the local people
made our experience both comfortable and educational. The food
and accommodations provided where beyond my expectations.
I would recommend khumbu adventure to anyone planning to come
to trek the wonderful Himalaya.
I love Nepal and hope to be back soon!

Dear Lhakpa
Thank you so much for the most amazing experience we could ever have

join us. Thank you for taking good care of us. We look forward to joining
you in Everest or Kashamir or maybe even Mongalio.
Wishing you all the best

Trekking:- Annapurna Base Camp
Concern:
It is with great
pleasure that we recommed Lhakpa Dorji Sherpa ( Age 24 ) as a guide.
( he was recommended to us by a physician in British Columbia, Canada).
In October we trekked to Annapurna Base camp with Lhakpa.
Although this was Lhakpa's second time in this Sanctuary ( he is from
the Khumbu area), we found him to be knowledgeable and fun to be with.
He was always friendly, encouraging, helpful and resourceful whenever
we needed it. He made every effort to get answers for us whenever we
asked if he didn't know. Lhakpa ensured our comfort. Having a Nepalese
interpreter was very helpful. With good judgments, he hired a very compatible
18year old porter who was just as reliable and honest as Lhakpa himself.
Thanks to Lhakpa, he helped make our trek an unforgettable experience
and we look forward to hiring him again to guide us into the Khumbu
region
